"I felt I must write to thank you for the drumming circle workshop you provided for us at Bristol Blue Glass earlier this year. Your service was professional, engaging and a lot of fun. Everybody involved (even the upstairs neighbours!) was vocal about enjoying the experience.

From a management perspective; as a team building exercise it was beyond compare. I learned far more about my staff than I had bargained for, including who the natural leaders in our team are, and the nature of mistakes I had made in apportioning job roles.

To quote Plato:"You can learn more in an hour of play, than in a year of conversation". Your workshop showed this to be absolutely true.

I would highly recommend the Drumnation service for Corporate Team Building."

Suzanne Adlington, Bristol Blue Glass

"A lively, hands on, audience participation guaranteed workshop for all ages, a must have workshop for all festivals. Brings your event alive with the majestic rhythm of drums!"

Mark Bale, Watchet LIVE Festival organiser

“The summer of 2010 saw the first Drum Gathering held at Tapeley Park in N.Devon, a small but very friendly event. All workshops were well attended - particularly that of a young man called Josh West of DrumNation. Feedback from those who attended Josh's workshops was very positive and enthusiastic.  We look forward to DrumNation returning to Drum Gathering for many years to come as it grows!”

Josh is an inspirational leader of drum workshops and has regularly visited the college to lead sessions. The students are motivated by his enthusiasm and knowledge of the instruments and he is able to tailor his delivery to suit all needs.

Carina Sumnar, Head of Music, Somerset Community College

“To sum up your workshops........well we have met some really nice friends, learnt that there are many amazing different drums that you can play and been thoroughly invigorated by every drum session.  At the end of the day we just can't wait to here from you to say hey next drum circle is…?”

“I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop.  It was so much fun to be taught in informal, un-embarrassing situation by someone who so clearly knows what he is doing while maintaining a casual atmosphere.  It lets you concentrate and dare to get things wrong, while practicing and learning different rhythms and broadening my understanding of layering and texturing sound.  Also, it was such a good laugh!”

“The wonderfully eccentric drumming guru of Somerset came to Exmoor Young Arts one wet and windy evening in September. Twenty three 5 to 13 year old children were nervously awaiting their “evening of drumming”. Little did they know what was in store...
Josh is not only a fantastic drummer but is also a brilliant session leader. He kept the attention of every single child for the whole hour and a half. In fact, the session could have easily lasted two hours as none of the children wanted him to leave, and were even trying to stop him from loading his car at the end of the evening.

The range of drums and percussion instruments that Josh brought, gave each child an opportunity to try out rhythms they probably didn't even know existed. They were completely enraptured by his unique style and eagerly fed off his energy, which we can quite truthfully say, knows no bounds!

Josh's talent and his ability to pass on that passion for drumming are second to none, and Exmoor Young Arts will definitely be inviting him to Exmoor again very soon.”

Exmoor Young Arts

"Exciting and vibrant workshop, Josh is full of energy and our groups have loved the experimental nature of music creation. Josh has excellent group control, keeping the performers focused and enthused for the whole session."
